The Little Owl I spotted a few months ago turned up again this afternoon. Sat in the hedge right by the side of the road. Skidded to a halt and took some shots. Arguably would have been better to have been further away for a decent composition. And the light wasn't great. But happy nonetheless.

Back to the New Forest this morning. Hoping for Cuckoo close ups after yesterday's sighting. No luck at all - didn't even hear one today. But some nice views of a Female Redstart.

Returned to Mark Ash Wood in the New Forest this morning to try for some Redstart photos. Some success, but still difficult to get close enough for detailed shots. I saw a pair together, so managed to get my first shot of a female Redstart.I also spent some time watching a Cuckoo feeding - jumping to the ground. Sat in a ditch for an hour, I hoped he'd work his way towards me, but no luck. So only a distance Cuckoo-in-tree shot.
